Footstool Making Weekend
Learn to make and upholster a footstool on this weekend course.
This upholstery workshop is perfect for beginners. You will be introduced to basic upholstery techniques and learn to create a footstool to take home and keep.
There are 3 different size footstools to choose from (15" x 12", 24" x 15" or 24" x 24") and you will complete every step of the process in making it. You also have a choice of legs for your footstool which are all made from solid wood
All tools and materials will be provided apart from the top cover fabric. You will need to bring 1 metre of medium weight upholstery fabric of your choice with you. The course will run from 9.30 am Saturday and we should be finished around lunch time on Sunday. There will be a maximum of 4 people on the course, working in a relaxed atmosphere and at your own pace. Each student will have their own workstation and tools so there is no problem to maintain social distancing. All tools will be cleaned before use. Face masks will be provided if needed.
The course will be held in one of two village halls near Penrith on the fringe of the Lake District National Park. The brand new village hall in Stainton, or in the beautiful Eden Valley village Langwathby. Both are conveniently located within a few miles of Junction 40 of the M6 and there is free parking on site.
Tea, coffee and cake will be provided throughout the weekend but you may wish to bring your own lunch. There is a pub in both villages and other options a short drive away. Accommodation is plentiful, please let Jacqueline know if you need a recommendation for your stay.
The price of the course is £200 including all materials except for the top cover fabric.
Gift vouchers are available if you'd like to treat a loved one.
